The FEC attracts many local health director's (more than 60 last year), NC Department of Health and Human Services/Division of Public Health branch heads and section chiefs, and directors and program leaders of many public health entities from across the state. As always, it's an excellent opportunity to meet and mingle with more than 450 of the state's top public health leaders. When you reach the FEC attendees, you also reach the medical care facilities, health departments, state government departments and universities where they work and the people they work with.
Local health departments exist for the common good and are responsible for demonstrating strong leadership in the promotion of physical, behavioral, environmental, social, and economic conditions that improve health and well-being; prevent illness, disease, injury, and premature death; and eliminate health disparities.
